Laser and laser systems for material processing

The Laser Working Group is an industry-specific grouping within the VDMA that has existed since 1988 and is organizationally integrated into the Machine Tools and Manufacturing Systems Association of the umbrella organization.

Membership
The membership of the AG Laser and Laser Systems for Material Processing includes
•    Suppliers of components with direct reference to the end application
•    Laser manufacturers and system integrators
•    Research institutes and universities

•    Analysis of worldwide production and foreign trade data for laser machines and surveys on current economic developments.
•    Positioning of laser technology in the context of quantum technologies and photonics.
•    Industry-specific press work that informs the public about the problem-solving competence of laser technology.
•    Information on topics and institutions of national and European research funding.
•    Development of an OPC UA interface standard for laser systems.
•    Co-organization of trade fairs and congresses
•    Structuring of research funding programs
•    Technical and legal advice on export control
